ART CAREER PROJECT

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

  • Complete research on 3 different art careers using the Research Handout

  • Complete a final presentation on an art career using a minimum of 5 slides.

PROJECT DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Why Study Art?

1. Watch the videos "Why Study Art" and "Why Art is Essential to Humanity"

2. Then, on your project handout answer the question below using at least 3 sentences:

  • What is your experience with art and where do you see it used in your everyday life?

Step 2: Art Career Research

Directions:

1. Go to The Art Career Website 

2. Browse all of the careers on the website  - particularly those that interest you or that you don't know about.

3. Choose 3 careers to focus your research on - they have to be art related.​

4. Get out your research pages in your ART CAREER packet and fill them out by Google Searching OR reading about each career on the Art Career Website and answering the following questions for each career. Each question needs a minimum of 3 complete sentences:

  • What do you find interesting about this career?

  • What surprised you most about this career?

  • Who are 2-3 famous/notable people in this field?

  • Sketch 3 examples of work that you find inspiring from this field.

Step 3: Presentation

Directions:

1. Read the directions for this step on your project planning sheet.

2. Watch the video on the right to learn how to create a visually pleasing presentation.

3. Build your Art Career Presentation and apply what you learned in the video: 

  • 1 idea per slide

  • Use bullet points

  • Relevant visuals and graphics

  • Easy to read font

  • 16 point font or higher

  • Plan your color scheme
