DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Build Mask Base
Get out the following materials:

Tray
-
Pencil
-
Masking Tape
-
Cup of water
-
paper towel to work on
-
plaster scissors
-
plaster strips

Step 2: Decide Base Placement
Get out the following materials:

Flat piece of cardboard
-
Glue
-
Your mask base
-
Write your name on the back of your cardboard.

Step 3: Learn about Identity

Then watch and LISTEN to the video on the right.

On your Project Planning Sheet or a piece of scratch paper, make a list of 5-10 things that reflect YOUR identity.
STEP 4: Sketch
Now it is time to create your sketch. Make sure you include:

a list of the materials you need

How your mask will reflect YOUR identity. Use the words you wrote from step 2 on your project planning sheet.

How you will fill the whole space on your mask & background

All artwork must be original (no copying)

Must take 4 class periods to create.

Material Options: Paint, string, glass, feathers, pom poms, cotton balls, pencil, charcoal, marker, magazines, paper, flowers, anything you want to bring from home.
STEP 5: Project
Now it is time to create what you designed in your sketch! Each day watch one of the videos below before you start to help you work through your process.
