ART ROOM HAPPENINGS
2D SURVEY AND 2D/3D ART STUDIO 1-4
CHS Visual Arts Program is a TAB classroom. This means the focus in classes is all about the creation process rather than the finished product. This approach fosters independence, creativity, and critical thinking, allowing students to engage deeply with their creative process. Students make original art using an artistic process known as the Artistic Thinking Process .
Art Survey students are currently building their clay projects, so their work is missing from this round. 3D pieces tend to take longer to produce than 2D pieces.
2D and 3D Art Studio students set their own goals and created works based on what they were trying to improve using the media that would best help their ideas come to life. The majority of these pieces are from the Studio courses.

AP Art
The AP Art and Design program is a college-level course that allows students to explore and develop their artistic voice through sustained investigation, experimentation, and reflection. AP Art encourages students to think like artists—posing creative questions, developing concepts, and making intentional artistic choices as they build a cohesive body of work. Throughout the year, students create original artworks that demonstrate skill, idea development, and personal expression while working in a variety of media. They document their process through research, writing, and critique, connecting their ideas to broader cultural, historical, and personal themes. This digital art show features both works in progress and completed pieces that reflect the students’ curiosity, persistence, and creative growth as developing artists.
