DIRECTIONS
STEP 1: What is a Sketchbook?
Watch the video to learn what a sketchbook is and how it will be used in our class.
Step 2: Supplies
Get out the following materials:

9x18 construction paper x1
-
8.5x11" white paper x 1/4" thick
-
8.5x11" lined paper if wanted
-
2 clips
-
pencil
-
ruler
-
string
-
needle
Step 3: Measure Binding
Directions:
-
Fold your 9x18 construction paper in half.

Make two marks at 1/2" from the center crease, line up your ruler, lightly mark the line
-
hold your ruler vertically on the line and put dots on the 2", 4", 6", 8", and 10" marks
-
Add your 8x11 paper to the inside. Make sure it is tight against the folded part, like a book.

Clip the paper together along the binding - make sure the clips don't cover your dots.​
Step 4: Drill the Holes
Directions:

take your book to the drill station and drill your holes.

WEAR SAFETY GLASSES.

Drill on a board!
STEP 5: Add the Binding
Directions:
-
Get out a string and needle
-
Make sure the string is 5x the length of your binding
-
follow video directions.
